Nordic Fest Entertainment & Activities
Nordic Fest features quality ethnic activities for the entire family. Start making your plans now for the 46th Annual Nordic Fest taking place July 26-28, 2012 in 2011!Annual activities include:
- Thursday night opening ceremonies, featuring the pageantry of flags, costumes, music, dancing, and more!
- Street dances Friday and Saturday evening
- Canopy 5 - free gate, cold drinks and snacks available. Enjoy "Never the Less" on Friday night and Saturday night, the popular "El Caminos" are back!
- Saturday night will have even bigger and better fireworks than ever before!
- Annual Nordic Fest Grand Parade Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
- Live music and entertainment citywide
- Antique show and craft show at the Decorah Middle School
- Bunad show, featuring ethnic costumes from all regions of Norway
- Children's carnival and petting zoo at the Decorah Middle School (NEW LOCATION!)
- Garden Tours of 3 beautiful homes in Decorah
- Trollheim: Tur til fots (Tour of Troll Trails) - guided 1 hour tour of Decorah on board an air-conditioned shuttle. Expert "Trollologists" will explain natural and pioneer history and share Troll Tales in a fun and imaginative way. Kids will love this tour! Tickets are free but you must sign up at the Main Info Center.
- NEW! Eagle Dash Bus Tour - step on board this bus tour and see some of the most popular sites of Decorah and spend some time at the fish hatchery where the famous Decorah eagle's nest is home to. Tickets are free but you must sign up at the Main Info Center. (see program guide for tour times)
